Dear Mr. Bruce, now that the the rest of your body is as wrinkly as your balls, don’t you think it’s about time to hang ‘em up? Doesn’t pottering around your garden all day sound better than breaking a hip out on the football field? Seriously, if you were playing for the Rams when they were based in L.A. (sadly, this isn’t a joke), it’s time to call it a career.

The Bust Explained:

Amazingly, Bruce is coming off a strong year. However, the Rams brought in Drew Bennett, a solid veteran possession guy who should take some catches away from Bruce. The Rams also signed TE Randy McMichael from the Dolphins. McMichael will also take away alot of balls that last year would have went to Bruce. The writing is on the wall here. This year will begin the phasing out process of what has been a fixture in the Rams passing attack for the last 20 years.

The Risk Factor:

Can Bruce put together yet another solid year? It’s possible. However, one thing we can guarantee, is that his TD total is going to suck, even if he manages to get enough balls to put up respectable yardage numbers. Bennett and McMichael will give Bulger two big targets in the red zone. And Holt, of course, will still get his. Even if Bruce surprises us, it will be with an above average season, not a great one.

The Strategy:
Traditionally, the #2 WR on the Rams was a valuable fantasy commodity. There will still be some people who still abide by that unwritten rule. Don’t be one of them. Bruce will get snapped up fairly early, especially since he’s coming off a strong year. Stay a step ahead of the game, and pass on Bruce.
