So we’ve heard alot about how Ladell Betts is awesome, and he’s going to take Portis’ job, and stop some nuclear missles that are already in the air, all the while helping some old lady across the street. Bullshit. Know how we know that? He’s from Iowa. Nothing good ever came from Iowa. Only a bunch of dipshits that claim they invented corn.

The Bust Explained Uh, Clinton Portis is back. What else do we need to explain here. That’s like saying, “Hey, we’ve got a Ferrari in the garage! Let’s take our Pinto out cruising for chicks, instead! Fucking A, people. If Portis is healthy, he’s going to get the vast majority of the carries. It’s unbelievable how high Betts goes, just because he filled in nicely for an injured Portis last year. Portis has something Betts doesn’t, and that’s explosiveness. Betts is a bit of a plodder, as proven by his longest carry of 26 yards last year. There’s NO reason to think Betts get 10+ carries a game.

The Risk Factor: Portis could get hurt again. If you consider that risky, then you have something severely wrong with you. We’ve seen Betts going as high as the 5th round in some drafts. We’ve seen him taken before other RBs who actually have a starting job. Taking him that early isn’t risky, it’s out and out stupid.

The Strategy:

Don’t pass on Betts altogether. But treat him like any other backup RB.
