Steve McNair (QB) - Baltimore Ravens

Except for Vick, McNair is the one of the most overhyped quarterbacks in the league. It’s fairly hard to slate him as a "Bust", considering his lackluster performance last season, but this is a good time to just put the ole proverbial nail in the coffin.

The Bust Explained:
Steve "Air George Burns" McNair, is just a few years a way from moving to Florida and beginning his endorsement carrier for the adult diapers industry. Lucky for him, he spends more time handing the ball off, than over-working those geriatric arms of his.

While the Ravens have some solid talent at the receiver position, their emphasis is on the running game. Newly named offensive coordinator Rick Neuheisel, who was the quarterback coach of the Ravens prior to the promotion(and instrumental in the implementation of McNair into the Raven offensive scheme), has stated that he willl not be calling the shots on the offense. "[It’s] a little bit misleading… This is Brian’s offense… I might have been a corporal before and now I’m a lieutenant." So those of you hoping for some sort of change in the Ravens offensive scheme this year can go ahead and scratch off that notion.

The Ravens are wise enough to know that their future doesn’t lie in the hands of McNair. If the Ravens record begins to slip at all, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Boller begin to take more snaps as the season progresses.

The Risk Factor:
If the Ravens offense stumbles out of the gates, there’s a chance that the coaching staff may start switching things up, and actually let Neuheisel start making some calls. With a more flexible backfield, and a talented corp of receivers in their arsenal, it really would be to their advantage to spread things out more. Unfortunately Brian Billick is just too stubborn to ever let that happen.

The Strategy:
If you have a 3rd QB slot this wouldn’t be a horrible pick.
