Brandon Jacobs (RB) - New York Giants

Although the Giants are reporting the newly acquired Reuben Droughns will be splitting time this season with Jacobs, expect Brandon to get the heavier load. Jacobs is a god damn horse, and Droughns will merely be the change up back.
The Break Out Explained
If you watched Jacobs play at all last year, you should have no doubt in your mind about what a fucking hammer he his. Some may contest that due to his size he could never an every-down back, however if you consider backs such as Jerome Bettis, Christian Okoye, or the likes, it becomes very obvious that the naysayers are going to miss the boat on this one.
Jacobs is a perfect fit for the Giants. He is a hard nose, pound-it-up-your-ass style runner, who takes more than one man to bring down. These types of runners always thrive in their youth. As the Giants continue to perfect their passing game, their offense will open up a lot of opportunities for Brandon. Droughns, is the only threat to steal some thunder, but due to his age and uselessness at the goal-line, he will be restricted to more of a change-up role. Jacobs will get the heavier load of carries, and nearly all of the rushing touchdowns.
The Risk Factor:
The Giants will definitely keep the carries pretty even between Droughns and Jacobs early in the season. If Droughns miraculously produces even semi-impressive numbers, they may hesitate to put him on the bench. However, due to his (Droughns) knack for getting injured (and sucking), we don’t foresee this.
The Strategy:
Because it is a two back situation for the Giants, people will be hesitant to take Jacobs too early. You should still expect him to be taken before Droughns. As previously mentioned, the carries could be kept even early in the season. So if you miss Jacobs during the draft, you may be able to acquire him via trade early in the season. Just don’t wait too long.
