Brandon Marshall (WR) - Denver

The 2006 4th round pick from Central Florida has the size and speed to be a good NFL WR. 2006 was a wash-out year, due to injuries and ineffectiveness at the QB position, making Marshall a prime candidate in 2007 to break out. With a good camp he should easily beat out the ancient one, Rod Smith for the #2 WR slot. Given the history of #2 WRs in Denver, 700 Yds and 6+ TDs, seems like a lock for Marshall in 2007.

The Break Out Explained

Denver has consistently had an above average passing game and given the young stud Cutler under center, we expect that trend to continue. As the above stats show, the #2 WR position in Denver has produced above average results the last 3 years. We see Marshall beating out Rod Smith for #2 WR duties in 2007. According to CB Champ Bailey…”From what I see, the guy runs great routes. He’s fast. He’s an unbelievable talent.”. We LOVE that kind of praise from the best CB in the NFL.

The Risk Factor:

Learning the complicated Denver offensive system will be the biggest hurdle for Marshall. Players like Ashley Lelie before him have failed in that respect, however we are counting on Marshall to break that trend now that he has a year under his belt.

The Strategy:

Marshall is a risky option as a #3 WR on your team in 2007, however he has tremendous upside as a #4 and you should be able to snag him in the later rounds. He offers the upside to be used in a trade mid-season to help propel you to the championship.
