Vernon Davis (TE) - 49ers
Aside from Antonio Gates, there is no other TE in the league with the speed and ability of Vernon Davis. We’re excited to see what Davis can do with a year under his belt. He and Alex Smith should be on the same page by now, and if he can stay healthy, he should be able to do some amazing things.
The Break Out Explained
The 49ers are priming themselves to be one of the top offenses in the league within the next few seasons. Alex Smith has proven his capability to be a future stud in the NFL. In now his third season, he really has the maturity and experience to begin living up to that potential. You have to give the 49ers props on their off-season acquisitions as well. They wisely drafted a fucking hammer of an offensive lineman in Levi Brown, and they picked up Darryl Jackson and Ashley Lelie who will be nice veteran to have in the mix. All of these tools (as well as an unmentioned stud at runningback) will make for a wide open offense that will create a lot of opportunities for Davis.
The Risk Factor:
Hopefully Davis doesn’t end up turning into the next Kellen Winslow Jr., and repeatedly missed games due to vaginal injuries, and Harley accidents. He’s also a little young, so it will probably be another year before he really starts to hit his stride.
The Strategy:
Davis is worthy of being the second (behind Gates) tight end taken in the draft, especially if you are in a keeper league. If you can pick him up later than that, consider yourself fortunate.

I believe the lineman they picked up was Joe Staley. Still a stud but Levi went to Arizona.
